Three generations, one craft
Nikolajs Šteimanis was born in Latvia and began working with wood around 1950 — at a time when a private trade meant working quietly, by hand, not behind a shop sign. The craft has never stopped since: passed from father to son, and now gathered under one name — Steinfolk Studio.
The surname "Šteimanis" traces back to the Baltic German "Steinmann" — literally "stone man," historically a craftsman or mason. "Stein" in our name isn't an invented image, but the true root of the family name.
